- Full Hex Nuts – Probably the original and certainly most recognisable type of nut. Great for simple fastening with bolts or screws where vibration and other factors aren’t relevant.
- Nyloc Nuts – A hex nut with the addition of a ‘collar’ enclosing a nylon ring giving a more sturdy fixture that is resistant to vibration.
- Dome Nuts – A hex nut with a domed enclosure that is both attractive and very safe due to guarding against any edges of the bolt or screw.
- Wing Nuts – Perhaps actually the original type of nut (having second thoughts now as fingers have been around longer than spanners!) this type of nut is designed with ‘wings’ that allow finger tightening
